The follow-up

What's up with the title? Follow-up to what? Well,it's a follow-up to a fine tradition of mine..being sarcastic about teenage love stories..this is a much-talked-about-&-discussed topic..relax..am not going to talk about the drama associated with this..but the aspect of peer pressure..follow-the-crowd mindset..just because everybody else is doing it, we need not..or the other way round, as nobody's doing anything, we should also be exactly the same..I remember watching a movie called 'the island' starring Scarlett Johanson...it had characters who were exactly like each other..there was no way to distinguish them..do we want to become carbon copies of each other? No,everybody wants to be special..appreciated..but nobody wants to do anything differently..
People say that following the crowd is easy..all you have to do is walk blindly...imitating the steps of the person in front of you..but when you think logically..creating your own path or just following a different path than others is also easy..after all, when you are on a less-trodden path, nobody expects you to perform miracles..in fact, they all expect you to fail..somehow or other..
So,the only one expecting anything or knowing when & where you have failed or have come short is yourself..
Don't you think that standing tall amongst your self-doubts & self-recrimination is easier & more satisfying than being of the same height amongst other hundreds?
